Catalan specialities: a real treat!
The south of France is famous for its culinary specialities, and during your camping holiday you’ll be able to sample them just a stone’s throw from the beach in one of the many restaurants along the Mediterranean coast.
You’re sure to find a Catalan dish to tempt you on the menu, as there are plenty of them in the region. Examples include tuna, anchovies or Catalan-style chicken. These are often accompanied by onions and tomatoes.
Catalan specialties also include Catalan grills, cargolade, boles de picolat, carbonade, musclade and many more!
Catalan desserts for gourmet pleasure
These sweet recipes are a real treat for the taste buds and allow you to discover new flavors. However, don’t forget to leave a little room for dessert.
In fact, in the vicinity of the campsite, whether for lunch, dinner or a snack, you’ll find restaurants and bars serving Catalan desserts such as crème et coques catalanes.
And don’t forget to try the regional sweets Touron catalan and Rousquilles, a delight for young and old alike.
Finally, for Easter, try the excellent Buynettes, another Catalan specialty.
And, if you’re feeling peckish in the afternoon or have a little room left over for dessert, you can enjoy a tourteau à l’anis, bras de venus or croquants de Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet. These are regional pastries that you’ll be sure to take home with you at the end of your stay.

Wineries: Discovering regional vintages
The south of France is famous for its fine wines and vineyards as far as the eye can see. If you’d like to discover some of these vineyards, you’ll be delighted to know that they’re located not far from the beach campsite and around ten kilometers from Perpignan.
You can visit the wineries and even take part in tastings, for example at the Vents du Sud or Mas Alart estates. You can also visit Vignobles Dom Brial dating back to 1923.
Don’t hesitate to ask the staff at Camping de la Plage for the best addresses for nearby estates. They’ll be delighted to point you in the right direction.
Enjoy fresh fish by the sea
Vacations by the sea are also a good opportunity to eat fresh, tasty fish accompanied by regional vegetables.
The campsite is just a stone’s throw from the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants serving fish dishes. So it would be a shame not to take advantage of it, especially as there are so many specialties to choose from.
Restaurants on the Côte Radieuse and Côte Vermeille offer dishes based on whiting, hake and sea bream. Don’t hesitate to try the delicious civet de langouste.

The Pyrénées-Orientales department boasts a wide range of culinary specialities. During your stay at Camping de la Plage, don’t hesitate to discover them. What’s more, if you don’t know which restaurant to go to, you can always ask the campsite staff. They’ll be happy to point you in the right direction and even advise you on which dishes to choose.
